Fall 2012 Pottery Classes

Here is the schedule for the Fall pottery classes at Sue's Studio Pottery. Sign up now by calling 613-544-7573.

The courses run for 6 weeks with each weekly class lasting one and a half hours.

The cost is $110 in general and $100 for students. This cost includes all materials and up to 6 finished pieces ready for you to use.

• Monday September 10th to October 22nd with a break for ThanksgivingChoice of times 6.30-8pm OR  8.15-9.45pm
• Thursday September 13th to October 18th - Choice of times 6.30-8pm OR  8.15-9.45pm
• Monday October 29th to December 3rd - Choice of times 6.30-8pm OR  8.15-9.45pm
• Thursday October 25th to November 29th -Choice of times 6.30-8pm OR  8.15-9.45pm

If you would prefer a daytime class please let me know. There is not one scheduled at present but if 6 people are interested we can find a mutually suitable time.

Please respond by email initially to reserve a place in any course. Your place will be guaranteed once payment has been made. This can be done by cheque (payable to Sue Lyon) or cash delivered to 34 Alma Street Kingston K7K 3V7

New classes and Studio Tour

My next series of pottery classes will begin on Thursday May 10th

The series is for 6 classes and the options are 6.30-8pm OR 8.15-9.45pm

The cost is $110 for the course and this includes all materials and up to 6 finished pieces.

I also offer the course to students and lower-waged people for $100

The classes occur at 34 Alma Street, Kingston

March Break Pottery Classes @ Sue's Studio Pottery 2012

We are offering four kids workshops over the March break in 2012. The classes are one hour and the fee is $20, materials included. The work produced by the kids will be glazed and fired and you'll be notified when they are ready for pickup. Kids will be able to explore a variety of techniques in hand-building with clay and will have specialized instruction throughout the class to help them develop their ideas into a three dimensional form! We work exclusively with professional ceramic materials and all finished glazed and fired work is food safe. These workshops are suitable for kids ages 5+ and are generally organized into related age groups, or you can sign up as a group of friends (mixed ages is fine) and take the class together. 

Classes will be confirmed once 8 kids are confirmed, and more classes may be added once these have filled up. The following times are available:

March 12, 1 - 2pm
March 12, 2:30 - 3:30pm
March 13, 1 - 2pm
March 13, 2:30 - 3:30pm

Please indicate the names and ages of the kids you would like to sign up, and the preferred date. Kids participating in the class should be dropped off no more than 5 minutes before the start of class, as preparations will still be being made in the studio and pickup is one hour after the start of the class. 

The classes will take place at Sue's Studio Pottery, 34 Alma Street in Kingston, next to McBurney (aka Skeleton) Park.

Pottery classes for 2012

Spaces are filling up fast for these courses - register now to guarantee a space... or give it as a gift! After these there will be no more classes at my studio until May 2012 as I will be in Australia.

Monday classes: Beginning on 9th Jan until February 13th

Two classes one from 6.30-8pm, the second one 8.15-9.45pm

Thursday classes: beginning January 5th until February 9th

Two classes one from 6.30-8pm [FULL], the second one 8.15-9.45pm

The cost is $110 which includes classes and materials and up to 6 finished fired pieces.

Students and low-waged folk can pay $100.

Please state which day and time you would like to attend.

If you want to come on Thursday but are out of town until the second week then I will try to accommodate you or pro-rate the class for 5 weeks.

The places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
